Integrated Listening Systems Gives Away Free Dreampads(TM) to Mark May as "Better Sleep Month"

DENVER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/09/14 -- Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), a provider of multi-sensory programs and products for improving brain function and emotional regulation, today announced that in honor of the Better Sleep Council's declaration of May as Better Sleep Month, iLs will be giving away one Dreampad per week during the month of May via its Dreampad giveaway page.

In a 2008 survey conducted by the Better Sleep Council, nearly 2 out of 3 respondents reported impaired sleep due to stress. One third of Americans experience poor sleep at least one night per week, and 16% are diagnosed with stress-induced insomnia. Over 40% of survey participants stated they were irritable due to sleep deprivation. An estimated $150 billion in lost productivity and absenteeism results from poor sleep.

The iLs Dreampad is a specialized pillow that delivers music through a subtle vibration that only the user is able to hear. The music evokes a relaxation response from the user and has been aptly described as a "massage to the nervous system." In a recent study the Dreampad showed a significant increase in the study participants' ability to relax. Nine of the 11 people that participated in the study displayed relaxation response within 15 minutes of using the Dreampad.

"In honor of Better Sleep Month, we are taking the opportunity to draw attention to the current sleep epidemic in the U.S.," said Ron Minson, MD, Clinical Director at iLs. "Integrated Listening Systems' Dreampad is a non-medicinal option available to help those who can't get to sleep easily on their own. It is implemented as part of a therapy program by clinicians and is also used at home by individuals and families."

Please visit the iLs Dreampad giveaway page to enter to win a free Dreampad during the month of May.

It's easy to assume that your app will run on a fast and reliable network. The reality for your app's users, though, is often a slow, unreliable network with spotty coverage. What happens when the network doesn't work, or when the device is in airplane mode? You get unhappy, frustrated users. An offline-first app is an app that works, without error, when there is no network connection.

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it’s important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. “Fly two mistakes high” is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee...

As someone who has been dedicated to automation and Application Release Automation (ARA) technology for almost six years now, one of the most common questions I get asked regards Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). Specifically, people want to know whether release automation is still needed when a PaaS is in place, and why. Isn't that what a PaaS provides? A solution to the deployment and runtime challenges of an application? Why would anyone using a PaaS then need an automation engine with workflow ...
