BROMONT, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 05/12/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $31,000 in funding for the 14th Fete du chocolat de Bromont (Bromont Chocolate Festival), which will take place from May 17 to 25, 2014.
This funding, provided by the Government of Canada through the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, will help bring together Bromont residents and visitors for a festive event that celebrates chocolate in all its forms.
-- The Fete du chocolat takes place in Bromont's heritage district and counts on the support of around 40 volunteers. -- Its activities, expected to draw more than 32,000 visitors, include popular music performances, live plays, chocolate tastings, and local history demonstrations.
"By featuring a popular food like chocolate and offering a wide range of activities for all ages and tastes, the Fete du chocolat has won the heart of the population and become a solid part of Bromont tradition."
-Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
"The Fete du chocolat would like to thank the Government of Canada for its support, which has made it possible to hire more than 50 local artists and artisans and to showcase Bromont's built heritage in a festive atmosphere amid the rich smell of chocolate. The Festival is also proud to have received the support of its community for the last 14 years."
