Shelfbucks, Bazaarvoice Incorporate Product Reviews, Ratings Into Smart Beacon-Based Mobile Solutions

Enhanced in-Store Smartphone Offering to Be Showcased in 'Shopper Marketing Experience Display' During Bazaarvoice Summit 2014 in Austin, May 12-14

AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 05/12/14 -- Shelfbucks Inc., the leading iBeacon promotion platform for retail stores, today announced its collaboration with Bazaarvoice Inc. (NASDAQ: BV) to deliver a higher level of product information to shopper smartphones at the store shelf, enabling retailers and product companies to more effectively build sales, brand awareness and shopper loyalty.

Working together, Shelfbucks will provide shoppers with timely product reviews and ratings from Bazaarvoice, in addition to real-time product deals and promotions, via Shelfbucks beacons installed on retail display shelves.

The new capability will be showcased in a "Shopper Marketing Experience Display" as part of the Bazaarvoice Summit 2014 being held in Austin, May 12-14. A true retail display setting replicated within the event's exhibit section will allow Summit participants to experience the capabilities made possible by integrating Shelbucks' technology with the product ratings and reviews from the extensive Bazaarvoice network, in which more than 400 million monthly unique users view and share authentic feedback about tens of millions of products.

"Online shoppers have easy access to ratings, reviews and product availability, yet research shows they still prefer to complete their purchases in brick-and-mortar stores," said Erik McMillan, CEO of Shelfbucks. "Our collaboration with Bazaarvoice levels the playing field for physical retailers, enabling them to provide the same level of qualified product reviews to shopper smartphones right at the store shelves when they are making purchase decisions."

Founded in 2013, Shelfbucks is one of the first in-store beacon promotion platforms that allow shoppers to interact with products on retail shelves from their smartphone via iBeacon, BLE and NFC Beacons. Shelfbucks enables retailers and brands to measure real-time in-store shopper demand and deliver personalized special offers, coupons and content to shoppers' iPhone or Android smartphones to impact purchase decisions. Shelfbucks helps retailers and brands build loyal relationships with in-store shoppers, while increasing incremental category sales, profit, and return visits.

In the world of DevOps there are ‘known good practices’ – aka ‘patterns’ – and ‘known bad practices’ – aka ‘anti-patterns.' Many of these patterns and anti-patterns have been developed from real world experience, especially by the early adopters of DevOps theory; but many are more feasible in theory than in practice, especially for more recent entrants to the DevOps scene. In this power panel at @DevOpsSummit at 18th Cloud Expo, moderated by DevOps Conference Chair Andi Mann, panelists will dis...
See storage differently! Storage performance problems have only gotten worse and harder to solve as applications have become largely virtualized and moved to a cloud-based infrastructure. Up until last year, enterprises that were looking into cloud services usually undertook a long-term pilot with one of the large cloud providers, running test and dev workloads in the cloud. With cloud’s transition to mainstream adoption in 2015, and with enterprises migrating more and more workloads into the cloud and in between public and private environments, the single-provider approach must be revisited. There is an ever-growing explosion of new devices that are connected to the Internet using “cloud” solutions. This rapid growth is creating a massive new demand for efficient access to data. And it’s not just about connecting to that data anymore. This new demand is bringing new issues and challenges and it is important for companies to scale for the coming growth. And with that scaling comes the need for greater security, gathering and data analysis, storage, connectivity and, of course, the...
