Interlude today announced it has received some of the most prestigious awards in the online and creative communities for its interactive music video “Like A Rolling Stone” for Bob Dylan, including a Webby for Best Editing in Online Film and Video and a One Show Gold Pencil in the Interactive category.
Interlude’s technology was also recognized by the Web Marketing Association with an Internet Advertising Competition award for its work for Pepperidge Farms’ Goldfish. The company created a series of interactive videos called “The Great Outdoors” for the brand in which viewers interact with various storylines and then vote on their favorite versions to determine which linear version is subsequently broadcast on TV.
“These distinctions highlight the growing role and increasing popularity of interactive video in the digital-media landscape,” said Yoni Bloch, CEO and co-founder of Interlude. “Though we do not create these videos with the intent of receiving awards, we are honored to be recognized by the community.”
The “Like A Rolling Stone” interactive video uses Interlude’s patent-pending interactive platform. It is the first real-time, seamless viewing experience of its kind allowing viewers to actively choose among 16 “TV channels,” as if they were channel surfing on a TV. Each channel features a wide range of TV personalities lip-syncing the lyrics to the iconic song. Currently, the video has received more than 70 million views.
In its 18th year, the Webby Awards are considered the Internet’s most respected symbol of success. More than 12,000 submissions from more than 60 countries and all 50 states were considered. Only a handful of submissions were selected to receive a Webby last month. Interlude was also one of only five nominees out of thousands of submissions for both Best Use of Interactive Video and Best Music in Online Film and Video.
Earning another exemplary recognition, Interlude was awarded the Gold Pencil by One Show on May 9, the highest award granted. Interlude was one of 97 Gold Pencil winners that emerged from 21,300 submissions from 63 countries. The One Show is considered the most prestigious competition in advertising, design, interactive and branded entertainment. Within the Interactive category, Interlude was recognized for its work in digital marketing and interactive design.
Interlude (www.interlude.fm) is a digital media company that designs, develops and markets interactive video technology. Treehouse is Interlude’s self-serve authoring suite that enables all video creators, whether enthusiasts or professionals, to create interactive videos.
