Gogobot Personalizes Traveler Experience with New Visual Planning and Discovery App

Say goodbye to the printed travel guidebook. Gogobot, the go-to place for the inside scoop on the best places to sleep, eat and play with more than 16 million users, today unveiled its visually-stunning new mobile app offering travelers a personalized guide to discover the world.

Now available for iOS and Android devices, the new app emphasizes Gogobot’s more than four million photos for users to explore visually as well as enables travelers to build collaborative trip itineraries with friends and family across multiple devices.

By tapping into the 675,000 recommendations and 60,000 city guides written by Gogobot’s in-the-know travelers and experts, the 23 powerful new features make the travel planning experience more comprehensive and seamless for those looking to discover, plan, book, and share their ideal trip.

Gogobot offers a highly personalized user experience with its Tribes feature, which allows users to join any combination of the platform’s 19 unique Tribes or “traveler personalities” – such as Foodies, Adventure Travelers and On a Budget – to access customized recommendations from like-minded travelers. Users can also engage with the Gogobot community to gain insight into anything travel related, from where to find the closest family-focused artisan pizzeria to the most buzzed-about day spas or nightspots.

Unique features of the new Gogobot app include:

Collaborative Trip Plans: Multiple users can now collaborate to seamlessly build, add to and share group travel itineraries in real time with a drag and drop interface to organize itineraries by day or category and sync across multiple devices.

Enhanced Mapping Capabilities: The refreshed mapping feature helps users discover recommendations from the Gogobot community, from hotels to restaurants and bars to museums and monuments, on a block-by-block basis.

Weather Forecasts: Along with delivering weather conditions for one’s current location, the new app offers weather data including five-day forecasts for thousands of cities, making it easier for travelers plan ahead.

Open Access: Users are now able to explore the app, discover hotels, attractions, restaurants, and make bookings without the need to log in or even sign up for an account. Gogobot plans to open things up further for logged-out users in future releases.
