THETFORD MINES, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 05/16/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Minister for La Francophonie and Member of Parliament (Megantic-L'Erable), today announced funding of $15,000 to allow the Musee mineralogique et minier de Thetford Mines to present the exhibition Fantastic Sea Monsters. Minister Paradis made this announcement on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover.
The Government of Canada is providing this support through the Exhibition Circulation Fund of the Museums Assistance Program. The travelling exhibition, which runs from April 1 to October 10, 2014, gives visitors to the museum a chance to discover the aquatic species that inhabit Canada's rivers and oceans and the myths and legends surrounding them.
-- The exhibition Fantastic Sea Monsters, created in 2010, was produced by the Musee du Fjord in partnership with The Rooms (Newfoundland and Labrador), the Maritime Museum of British Columbia, and Oceanopolis (France). The exhibition has been on tour since January 2011. -- The Musee mineralogique et minier de Thetford Mines offers guided tours adapted to the needs of different groups, as well as educational activities designed to meet the learning outcomes of science programs in elementary and secondary schools in Chaudiere-Appalaches and neighbouring regions.
"I am delighted that our Government is allowing more Canadians to discover this fascinating exhibition, which sheds light on the mysterious creatures living in our underwater world."
-Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
"I would like to congratulate the Musee mineralogique et minier de Thetford Mines on making informative and enriching exhibitions available to local residents and visitors to the Chaudiere-Appalaches region."
-The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Minister for La Francophonie and Member of Parliament (Megantic-L'Erable)
"The Exhibition Circulation Fund of Canadian Heritage's Museums Assistance Program is an invaluable resource for regional museums and their communities. Without this support, we would not be able to diversify our programming, nor could we bring to our community exhibitions on the scale of the Musee du Fjord's Fantastic Sea Monsters."
-Francois Cinq-Mars, Director, Musee mineralogique et minier de Thetford Mines

There are several IoTs: the Industrial Internet, Consumer Wearables, Wearables and Healthcare, Supply Chains, and the movement toward Smart Grids, Cities, Regions, and Nations. There are competing communications standards every step of the way, a bewildering array of sensors and devices, and an entire world of competing data analytics platforms. To some this appears to be chaos. In this power panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists will discuss the vast to...
