Los Angeles Estate Planning Attorney Sona Tatiyants Educates New Parents to Better Protect Their Children

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/19/14 -- "Before a child is born, parents need to set up an estate plan to protect their family in the event that both parents are suddenly removed from their lives," states Sona A. Tatiyants, Esq. of Tatiyants Law, P.C. "If a mother dies during childbirth or both parents become permanently disabled, a proper estate plan will allow their child to be raised in the manner that they decide as opposed to having a judge decide who will raise their children and how their assets will be handled."

Attorney Tatiyants' law firm specializes in estate planning for young families. On May 29th, she will present the workshop, "Building Your Baby's Safety Net: Life Insurance and Estate Planning," from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Pump Station, 1248 Vine Street in Hollywood and on June 4th, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Pump Station, 2415 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica. Attorney Tatiyants was nominated for two awards in 2014: the San Fernando Valley Business Journal's "Women in Business" award and the Los Angeles Business Journal's "Women Making a Difference" award.

Serving Greater Los Angeles from offices in Glendale and Sherman Oaks, Attorney Tatiyants has seen what can go wrong when young families don't have a plan in place for their children. "After a mother gives birth, she is typically too overwhelmed to have the time or focus to initiate an estate plan and it may be some time before she or her partner is able to set aside the time," says Sona.

"Most parents believe that if they purchase life insurance, their children will be financially provided for after they die. However, even if they name their child as a beneficiary, a guardian of the estate would still need to be appointed to manage their child's money until he or she turns 18. This is a very expensive and time consuming process, and ultimately, a judge will decide how the parents' funds can be used, after their death, for their child's upbringing.

"A better solution is to set up a trust, which will ensure that the child is raised in accordance with the parents' wishes and will dictate how their money is to be spent," she adds. "A trust keeps expenses down, keeps the matter private, removes the child from the court, and will provide peace of mind to the parents that their wishes will be carried out."

Attorney Sona Tatiyants' law practice is focused on protecting her clients, their families and assets in case of death, incapacity and all types of emergencies. Sona builds long term relationships with the families she represents and uses current technology to accommodate parents' schedules, like Skyping with her clients in the evening when their children are asleep. As the mother of two little girls, Sona understands the fear many parents, should tragedy remove them from their children's lives.

Joining Sona for both workshops will be Jennifer Burnham-Grubbs, owner of Quantum Insurance Services, a boutique life and health insurance brokerage firm that provides an emphasis on young families. As a working mom of two, Jennifer Burnham-Grubbs knows just how important it can be to have the right insurance plan in place for a growing family.

Reservations are required and there is a $25.00 fee to attend. To attend either workshop, please visit: www.tatiyantslaw.com or email: [email protected].

Detecting internal user threats in the Big Data eco-system is challenging and cumbersome. Many organizations monitor internal usage of the Big Data eco-system using a set of alerts. This is not a scalable process given the increase in the number of alerts with the accelerating growth in data volume and user base. Organizations are increasingly leveraging machine learning to monitor only those data elements that are sensitive and critical, autonomously establish monitoring policies, and to detect...

You know you need the cloud, but you’re hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You’re looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you’re concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies.
Consumers increasingly expect their electronic "things" to be connected to smart phones, tablets and the Internet. When that thing happens to be a medical device, the risks and benefits of connectivity must be carefully weighed. Once the decision is made that connecting the device is beneficial, medical device manufacturers must design their products to maintain patient safety and prevent compromised personal health information in the face of cybersecurity threats. DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

When shopping for a new data processing platform for IoT solutions, many development teams want to be able to test-drive options before making a choice. Yet when evaluating an IoT solution, it’s simply not feasible to do so at scale with physical devices. Building a sensor simulator is the next best choice; however, generating a realistic simulation at very high TPS with ease of configurability is a formidable challenge. When dealing with multiple application or transport protocols, you would be...
Existing Big Data solutions are mainly focused on the discovery and analysis of data. The solutions are scalable and highly available but tedious when swapping in and swapping out occurs in disarray and thrashing takes place. When you focus on a journey from up-close, you look at your own technical and cultural history and how you changed it for the benefit of the customer. This was our starting point: too many integration issues, 13 SWP days and very long cycles. It was evident that in this fast-paced industry we could no longer afford this reality. We needed something that would take us beyond reducing the development lifecycles, CI and Agile methodologies. We made a fundamental difference, even changed our culture...
