Definitive Rest Mattress Company Announces New Joint Venture and Final Steps for CAFINASA Acquisition Guatemala, CA

MONTCLAIR, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/19/14 -- Definitive Rest Mattress Company (OTC Pink: DRMC) (PINKSHEETS: DRMC) (the "Company" or "Definitive Rest") is pleased to announce the Joint Venture supplier agreement with a new chain of stores to open in the Southern California area.

Based on our new format of "Build Your Own Mattress Online" Definitive Rest Mattress and soon to open "California Dreamin Mattress Stores," have agreed to work exclusively, in this new concept of selling mattress based on mattress design and education to the costumer via both companies' website.

In combination of internet and stores the customer will build their own mattress based on the size and comfort they desire adding and unique format of choosing the correct mattress for the customer, easy step by step guidelines will set a new standard in shopping for a mattress.

Mike Magnuson, CEO of GoodBed.com (http://www.goodbed.com/), a mattress review site, said the Internet is playing a significant role in the mattress shopping experience.

He said consumers have no routine for buying a mattress, since it is a "sporadic purchase." They are also confused by mattress warranties and model names. In general, they are wary about the mattress shopping process.

Consumers' fear leads them to look for information about mattresses. They are using smartphones to help avoid a bad mattress decision. And they are using social media to see what their friends like.

Magnuson said that approximately 5% of mattress shoppers buy online, but said that is only a small part of the Internet story. About 40% of consumers say they would consider buying a mattress online. "People are very open to the idea of buying online," he said.

And 85% of consumers research mattresses online, making the Internet a vital part of the shopping experience for many.

Mattress Industry Numbers:

According to the Bedding Barometer (http://www.sleepproducts.org/statistics/industry-sales-data/#beddingbarometer), the International Sleep Products Association's (http://www.sleepproducts.org/) monthly report on industry sales, August 2013 unit sales of mattresses and foundations increased 3.5% for the month as compared with August 2012. The wholesale dollar value of August unit sales were up 6.9% to $534 million for the month.

The average unit selling price for mattresses, alone, rose 4.6% in August 2013, compared with the prior-year month, while the average unit selling price of foundations decreased by 2.3% compared with August 2012.

Year-to-date unit shipments, wholesale revenues and average unit price rose slightly, 1.5%, 2% and 0.5% respectively.

The initial test run of our of one of product lines and market analysis were successful to assure the acquisition of Cafinasa Guatemala, this acquisition will pave the way for a new market forecast in revenue and logistics. Cafinasa represents the opportunity to enter a market with minimal competition in mattress design and manufacturing technology, the acquisition represents additional revenue forecast for the year of 2015 and the future. Directors from both companies have agreed on the terms and conditions that will give control of all operations and product development to Definitive Rest Mattress company as June 16th 2014.
