Vitals, a leader in providing online transparency tools and data that help consumers find top doctors and make informed decisions about their medical care, announced today the appointment of Tony Bellomo as President and Chief Operating Officer, and John Jordan as Executive Vice President, Health Plan Market.
The appointments come as Vitals deploys its innovative, SaaS-based transparency platform – VitalsChoice – at several leading health plan organizations. More than 100 million members already have access to the tools that help plan members make better decisions by providing cost, quality and availability information.
“With the rise of high-deductible health plans and consumers taking on more financial responsibility for their care, there is increased complexity in the decision making process,” said Vitals CEO and Founder Mitch Rothschild. “I am excited to expand our team with health care veterans that bring deep industry knowledge, operational excellence and customer focus to help us expand Vitals’ commitment to helping people access higher-quality care at lower costs.”
Tony Bellomo previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Vitals. In his new role of President and Chief Operating Officer, he has overall responsibility for the business growth and operational execution across all of the companies’ lines of business, including consumer, health plan and provider. Tony brings over 25 years of experience in the health care industry, with a strong background in leadership, technology and health care. He previously served as President of both TriZetto Corporation and Erisco Managed Care Technologies, responsible for building and growing the business, as well as the development and launch of the Facets managed care administration system.
As Executive Vice President of the Health Plan market for Vitals, John Jordan will have responsibility for business development, solutions deployment and client relationships. Prior to joining Vitals, John Jordan was president of TriZetto's National Accounts Market, responsible for providing comprehensive products and services to health plans. Jordan also held senior positions at Erisco Managed Care Technologies, IBM and Cullinet Software, now part of Computer Associates.
Vitals is reinventing the way people chose doctors and medical facilities. We provide increased transparency to cost, quality and access information to support effective decision making. Vitals brings together actionable data, online tools and an engaging consumer experience that empowers consumers to make more informed, higher-quality and lower-cost health care decisions. Through health plans, hospitals and our leading consumer websites, Vitals helps more than 150 million people each year access information for better, more affordable care.

What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. Much like an orchestra without a conductor, without the ability to secure, control, and connect the link between a vehicle’s head unit, devices, and systems and to manage the ...
