Sonus Receives 2014 Excellence in SDN Award

Sonus Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONS), a global leader in SIP communications, today announced that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named the Sonus SBC SWe a 2014 Excellence in SDN Award winner presented by TMC’s INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine and SDN Zone. The SBC SWe received this award based on its leadership in the SDN technology domain.

SDN architecture has already had a profound impact on the IT and telecom industries and, as this technology continues to grow in popularity, the Excellence in SDN Awards recognizes the companies that are leading the way in SDN architecture and applications.

The SBC SWe is feature equivalent to Sonus’ hardware-based SBC 5000 platform. The difference between the Sonus SBC SWe and the Sonus SBC 5000 Series is how customers choose to deploy it: on industry-standard servers or in virtualized environments. Scalable from as few as 25 and architected to provide an unlimited number of sessions, the user-defined scope of the SBC SWe means Sonus customers can now choose the best deployment for their needs.
