Avira’s iOS Mobile Security App Offers Recommended App Section

Security expert Avira announced today that it will begin recommending apps on its own iOS Mobile Security App under the Recommended tab. The first app being recommended by Avira is PRIVATE WiFi, an app for iOS users, which encrypts the WiFi signal in public hotspots to offer privacy to users who want additional protection for personal and sensitive information.

PRIVATE WiFi is a product of Private Communications Corporation. PRIVATE WiFi works by encrypting the Internet signal in public hotspots. With the encryption, everything users do via that public hotspot is private, including emails, online banking, photos, social networking, and all other activity.

“Avira takes its job providing security for millions of users worldwide very seriously, and we also offer our recommendations very seriously as well. We feel that PRIVATE WiFi offers users a comprehensive way to keep their personal information and surfing habits private while using a public WiFi location,” said Lance Jacobs, North America’s General Manager for Avira. “This is the first app that Avira has publicly recommended, and there will be more recommendations in the months to come with apps that live up to our tough standards.”

“We’re honored that a security technology company as well regarded as Avira recommends PRIVATE WiFi’s VPN as a solution to protect consumers against the threats public WiFi poses,” said Kent Lawson, President and CEO, PRIVATE WiFi. “Like Avira, we empower people to go about their business on the Internet—wherever they are—without fear.”

"We build IoT infrastructure products - when you have to integrate different devices, different systems and cloud you have to build an application to do that but we eliminate the need to build an application. Our products can integrate any device, any system, any cloud regardless of protocol," explained Peter Jung, Chief Product Officer at Pulzze Systems, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held November 1-3, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

Between 2005 and 2020, data volumes will grow by a factor of 300 – enough data to stack CDs from the earth to the moon 162 times. This has come to be known as the ‘big data’ phenomenon. Unfortunately, traditional approaches to handling, storing and analyzing data aren’t adequate at this scale: they’re too costly, slow and physically cumbersome to keep up. Fortunately, in response a new breed of technology has emerged that is cheaper, faster and more scalable. Yet, in meeting these new needs they...
