Voxer, a pioneer in push-to-talk (PTT) and multimedia messaging, today announced that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named Voxer Business as a 2014 Mobility Tech Zone Product of the Year Award winner. The awards are presented by Mobility Tech Zone, an online resource for the mobile broadband industry, sponsored by TMC and Crossfire Media.
Mobility Tech Zone Product of the Year Awards honor the development of technologies geared toward the evolution of a 4G, all IP, wireless network, including products, services, architecture and infrastructure, delivery, and applications.
“We are focused on solving the communication and collaboration needs of the modern enterprise, through a service that runs on any mobile device and platform. Voxer Business enables employees to instantly connect with each other, regardless of location, while saving time and increasing productivity,” said Tom Katis, CEO and founder, Voxer. “This award reinforces our vision that Voxer Business will bring the next generation of business communication through voice and mobile messaging.”
Voxer Business provides a next generation push-to-talk (PTT) service, enabling employees to send live and recorded voice messages, in addition to multimedia messages and location sharing. It eliminates the need to carry an extra clunky device, like a walkie-talkie, providing a discreet and elegant solution that can be downloaded on any mobile device and platform - iOS, Android and Windows. Voxer Business also provides desk workers with additional administrative capabilities through Web browsers, and most recently, a native Windows desktop app. Additionally, with enterprise-ready features, organizations can maintain ownership of all data through configurable policies.
“Recognizing leaders in mobile technologies, TMC is proud to announce Voxer as a recipient of the annual 2014 Mobility Tech Zone Product of the Year Award," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “Voxer Business has demonstrated innovation and will help shape the face of the quickly evolving industry. It is our pleasure to honor Voxer for their inspiring work.”
Voxer was founded in 2007 with the vision to make worldwide communication easy and more efficient. The privately held San Francisco-based company launched its first walkie-talkie and text-messaging application in 2011. Voxer now offers a high-performance push-to-talk service for enterprises, Voxer Business. The company has raised $30 million in funding from Institutional Venture Partners, Intel Capital, SV Angel, CrunchFund and other investors. To learn more, please visit www.voxer.com.

Those statements were among the bottom-line takeaways delivered at Cloud Expo this week, a three day, bi-annual event focused on cloud technologies, adoption and associated challenges.

In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.
