MaintenanceNet Customer Wins 2014 Channel Marketing Campaign of the Year Award From Leading IT Channel Publication

Leading Networking Manufacturer Recognized by the U.K.'s Comms Dealer Magazine for Increasing Service Renewals for Partners by More Than 200 Percent

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 05/20/14 -- MaintenanceNet, Inc., the leading provider of service revenue generation solutions, today announced a key customer was named a winner in the "Vendor Channel Marketing Campaign of the Year" category in the 2014 Comms Dealer Sales Awards. The honor was presented to the leading networking manufacturer on the basis of its successful execution of an automated service contract renewal campaign powered by MaintenanceNet's AutoQuote™ solution.

Using AutoQuote, the manufacturer fueled sales expansion with existing customers and enabled its Tier 1 and Tier 2 channel partners to quickly perform service contract renewals and transactions online, reducing the cost of sale through automation. With thousands of low-dollar service contracts up for renewal each month across its installed base, the networking leader and its channel partners put AutoQuote to work after recognizing they had been spending too much time tracking and managing those renewals using tedious, manual sales processes.

The AutoQuote initiative led to an increase of more than 200 percent in service renewals ordered by the manufacturer's customers through the channel in 2013. In addition, AutoQuote allowed MaintenanceNet's client to drastically reduce quote creation time, automating up to 20,000 quotes per month to save 1,500-plus administrative hours for distribution partners and 3,000 or more hours for reseller partners each month.

"AutoQuote provided a cost-effective, automated way to allow our client's European distribution and reseller partners to spend less time focusing on process, and more time doing what they do best -- sell," said Shayne Skaff, president of MaintenanceNet. "The program has resulted in an exceptional business outcome for our customer, and we'd like to thank Comms Dealer for recognizing the success of this initiative and for underscoring the value that service renewals provide to the channel."

Designed to automate the delivery of service renewal quotes to the market, AutoQuote is the only data-driven tool of its kind to provide manufacturers with a convenient, no-touch/low-touch way to produce accurate, manufacturer-approved service quotes that are ready to be passed on to the customer in partnership with their multi-tiered sales ecosystem. The automation solution not only increases their chances of winning more business, but has also been proven to generate twice the amount of gross profit that would otherwise be available to partners when selling these service offerings.

"This year's winners and finalists are leaders and innovators in the U.K. IT channel," said Nigel Sergent, editorial director for Comms Dealer and BPL Business Media Ltd. "We'd like to commend them on their tenacity, achievements and commitment to making our sector one of the most dynamic in the U.K."

The annual Comms Dealer Sales Awards program spotlights sales achievements by distributors, resellers and vendors across the U.K. This is the second consecutive year that a MaintenanceNet customer has been honored by Comms Dealer. The 2014 awards were presented at a luncheon on May 8. Winners are listed on the Comms Dealer website at

Mobile messaging has been a popular communication channel for more than 20 years. Finnish engineer Matti Makkonen invented the idea for SMS (Short Message Service) in 1984, making his vision a reality on December 3, 1992 by sending the first message ("Happy Christmas") from a PC to a cell phone. Since then, the technology has evolved immensely, from both a technology standpoint, and in our everyday uses for it. Originally used for person-to-person (P2P) communication, i.e., Sally sends a text...
Containers have changed the mind of IT in DevOps. They enable developers to work with dev, test, stage and production environments identically. Containers provide the right abstraction for microservices and many cloud platforms have integrated them into deployment pipelines. DevOps and Containers together help companies to achieve their business goals faster and more effectively.
The buzz continues for cloud, data analytics and the Internet of Things (IoT) and their collective impact across all industries. Containers are revolutionizing the way we deploy and maintain our infrastructures, but monitoring and troubleshooting in a containerized environment can still be painful and impractical. Understanding even basic resource usage is difficult - let alone tracking network connections or malicious activity. In his session at DevOps Summit, Gianluca Borello, Sr. Software Engineer at Sysdig, will cover the current state of the art for container monitoring and visibility, including pros / cons and li...
Too often with compelling new technologies market participants become overly enamored with that attractiveness of the technology and neglect underlying business drivers. This tendency, what some call the “newest shiny object syndrome,” is understandable given that virtually all of us are heavily engaged in technology. But it is also mistaken. Without concrete business cases driving its deployment, IoT, like many other technologies before it, will fade into obscurity.
The web app is agile. The REST API is agile. The testing and planning are agile. But alas, data infrastructures certainly are not. Once an application matures, changing the shape or indexing scheme of data often forces at best a top down planning exercise and at worst includes schema changes that force downtime. The time has come for a new approach that fundamentally advances the agility of distributed data infrastructures. Come learn about a new solution to the problems faced by software organ...
