NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 05/20/14 -- When the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity launches its first festival of creativity in healthcare communications on June 13-14, Havas Health will present the seminar "How the Story Is Changing: The Power of Narrative Medicine." This event -- which will discuss an area of healthcare that uses genuine contact with patients by physicians and nurses to lead to a deeper understanding of their needs and more effective treatments -- will feature Dr. Rita Charon and Havas Founder Jacques Séguéla.
Charon is director of the Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed a Ph.D. in English when she realized how central telling stories and listening to them are to the work of doctors and patients. Séguéla, who co-formed the predecessor to Havas half a century ago, is currently the company's vice president of global creativity.
Havas Health will be sponsoring the festival's Press Centre, the main hub for all media attendees. The centre will be powered by Havas PR, which will provide interview support. The Press Centre will be located on the upper level of the Debussy Foyer, and the narrative medicine seminar will take place at Theater Debussy on Saturday, June 14, from 3 to 3:40 p.m.
