BANJUL, GAMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/20/14 -- Almas Jiwani, President of UN Women National Committee Canada will deliver the keynote address at the 2014 Women Advancement Forum. The forum will be held in Banjul, Gambia from May 25-29 2014.
"The Women Advancement Forum has been gaining momentum ever since its global launch. I have witnessed the collective power the WAF has had in advancing issues onto the global agenda, and it is an honour to join ranks with these exceptional leaders once again in voicing the issues at hand. I look forward to raising the agenda and tabling social and political issues with my comrades in an environment of emancipation," says Almas Jiwani.
Ms. Jiwani will be joining notable figures and academics from across the world, honouring this year's theme of, empower the woman -- give the world a future beyond the MDG's. Ms. Jiwani will be voicing the critical involvement and the role of women in implementing the MDG's.
"We were deeply affected by the words Almas Jiwani shared with us at the 2013 event. There was a unanimous need to invite Ms. Jiwani again and shed light on the global reality of the MDG's and what the world may look like post 2015.
