Nutanix IT Professional Certification Program Sky Rockets

Nutanix, the leading provider of next-generation datacenter infrastructure solutions, today announced that its 500th IT professional has achieved certification through the Nutanix Platform Professional (NPP) certification program. NPP has been established to provide an accelerated learning path for the design, deployment and administration of Nutanix products and solutions globally. In August 2013, there were 50 individuals certified, recognizing their competency in the core components of the Nutanix architecture. In the less than nine months, 450 additional IT professionals have become certified in North America, Europe and Asia, further advancing Nutanix’s mission to deliver simple and cost-effective virtual datacenter solutions to the enterprise.

The Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform is transforming the management of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and many other workloads by bringing the benefits of web-scale IT capabilities to mainstream datacenters, delivering both simplicity and agility. Today, some of the most recognized brands have taken advantage of Nutanix’s web-scale technologies and deployed the company’s products at sites worldwide.

NPP is part of the nu.school Educational Programs, an advocacy focused curriculum that delivers courses via a variety of in-person, remote instructor and eLearning formats globally. Instructor-led training is available worldwide through Nutanix Training Centers and a network of Nutanix Authorized Training Centers that provide training services in multiple local languages.

What Customers Have to Say

"Our main IT offices are distant from major airports, so remote training is always our first choice,” said David Stolte, manager of IT Operations, Prairie North Regional Health Authority. "The remote training offered by Nutanix allowed us to train multiple IT team members and bring them up to speed on the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform without having them leave the office. The scheduling was flexible, the instructor was knowledgeable and the remote access to a hands-on training lab was ideal."

What Partners Think

“The unprecedented growth in adoption of the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform goes hand in hand with the demand for training and certification in web-scale IT architecture, deployment and management,” said Franck Laga, Managing Director France & Africa at Exclusive Networks. “For example, in our Paris ATC alone, in the last 30 days over 25 IT professionals got trained and certified on Nutanix technology.”

“Nutanix has very quickly become a strategic partner for our Converged Infrastructure portfolio, and we are seeing the web-scale IT message resonate with our clients,” said Steve Dowling, Director of Converged Infrastructure at Sirius Computer Solutions. “Having all of our Converged solution architects certified as Nutanix Platform Professionals has helped differentiate Sirius as a leader in the Converged Infrastructure market.”

"By providing various choices to build flexible, scalable and high-performance cloud platforms, SDDCs (Software Defined Data Centers) with Nutanix offer real value to our customers to grow their business just in line with market requirements,” said Hamza Nadi, manager Solutions Sales, PROFI Engineering Systems AG. "For PROFI, NPP is not only a platform to meet Nutanix's certification requirements, more importantly we regard NPP as an important quality benchmark to provide substantial expertise and exceptional service to our customers."

Without a clear strategy for cost control and an architecture designed with cloud services in mind, costs and operational performance can quickly get out of control. To avoid multiple architectural redesigns requires extensive thought and planning. DevOps is being widely accepted (if not fully adopted) as essential in enterprise IT. But as Enterprise DevOps gains maturity, expands scope, and increases velocity, the need for data-driven decisions across teams becomes more acute. DevOps teams in any modern business must wrangle the ‘digital exhaust’ from the delivery toolchain, "pervasive" and "cognitive" computing, APIs and services, mobile devices and applications, the Internet of Things, and now even blockchain. Major trends and emerging technologies – from virtual reality and IoT, to Big Data and algorithms – are helping organizations innovate in the digital era. However, to create real business value, IT must think beyond the ‘what’ of digital transformation to the ‘how’ to harness emerging trends, innovation and disruption. Architecture is the key that underpins and ties all these efforts together. In the digital age, it’s important to invest in architecture, extend the enterprise footprint to the cl...
Fact: storage performance problems have only gotten more complicated, as applications not only have become largely virtualized, but also have moved to cloud-based infrastructures. Storage performance in virtualized environments isn’t just about IOPS anymore. Instead, you need to guarantee performance for individual VMs, helping applications maintain performance as the number of VMs continues to go up in real time. More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...
The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? Certainly the fog layer of IoT requires special insights about data ontology, security and transactional integrity. But the developmental challenges are the same: People, Process and Platform and how we integrate our thinking to solve complicated problems. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Craig Sproule, CEO of Metavine, demonstrated how to move beyond today's coding paradigm and sh...
