Wizeline, the product intelligence company, today announced that James Nielsen has joined as its Vice President of Sales and Sales Operations. Nielsen -- who has over ten years of experience scaling enterprise SaaS sales operations -- will lead a global team focused on revenue growth and customer success.
“We’re thrilled to have James join the Wizeline team,” said Bismarck Lepe, Wizeline founder and CEO. “His ability to build high-performance sales organizations and understand the benefits of software products at a technical level are rare in the sales profession.”
Nielsen comes to Wizeline from Ustream, where as Vice President of Sales he launched its enterprise sales teams and drove millions of dollars in new revenue. He has also held senior sales roles at Ooyala, Intapp and Qualcomm. Nielsen has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
“I’m excited to join the team -- and even more excited to get Wizeline in the hands of every Product and Sales team in the world,” said Nielsen. “I’ve seen firsthand how imperfect information leads to products that aren’t commercially viable. With Wizeline, we’ll help all companies with technology teams make better strategic decisions and drive higher product engagement.”
Wizeline’s platform makes it easy for companies to collect and process disparate data sources to clearly understand the market potential of the products they’re considering building. Key benefits include faster times to market, reduced engineering waste and higher product hit rates in the market.
Nielsen is also an All-American collegiate athlete and was a U.S. Olympic Trials competitor. More recently, he broke the world record in the beer mile. The video detailing the event received over 1.2 million views in one week’s time. It was featured on ESPN, Bleacher Report and dozens of other media outlets.
Wizeline is focused on scaling its global staff. In Q2 2014, it plans to double its staff across all parts of the organization.
Wizeline is a product intelligence company. Its data analytics solutions help companies make autonomous business decisions that drive winning products. Wizeline customers include Fairfax Media, WePow, SnappyTV, Chartbeat and Evergent. Founded in 2013, Wizeline brings together decades of experience from companies such as Google, Twitter, Ooyala and AppNexus.

All organizations that did not originate this moment have a pre-existing culture as well as legacy technology and processes that can be more or less amenable to DevOps implementation. That organizational culture is influenced by the personalities and management styles of Executive Management, the wider culture in which the organization is situated, and the personalities of key team members at all levels of the organization. This culture and entrenched interests usually throw a wrench in the work...
