SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/21/14 -- Swinerton Builders recently joined forces with the AGC Student Chapter of San Jose State University and employee, subcontractor, and community volunteers to take part in Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley's annual "Rebuild Day," making essential updates to the Santa Clara group home of five individuals disabled by mental illness. The repaired residence is managed by Momentum for Mental Health, a local nonprofit that provides treatment and support services to those living with mental health issues.
As a house sponsor for the event, Swinerton organized volunteer labor and leveraged 126 years of building expertise to make a difference in the daily lives of the current residents and assist Momentum in their mission to serve future residents. Swinerton's work on the home spanned three weeks before and after the Rebuild Day, with ongoing support from BT Mancini, J&J Acoustics, Environmental Systems Inc., and Pacific Coast Building Specialties. The scope of repairs included: complete demolition and renovation of one bathroom, replacement of the kitchen flooring, new ceilings and interior paint in the dining room, entry way, and living room.
The total time volunteered on this successful rebuild project was 484 hours. In addition to work-in-kind contributions, Swinerton donated $10,000 through its nonprofit arm, The Swinerton Foundation. Beyond the Silicon Valley Rebuild Day, the company routinely organizes teams for other local charitable events. Swinerton is proud to extend their teamwork beyond the jobsite to those in the community who need it most.

What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. Much like an orchestra without a conductor, without the ability to secure, control, and connect the link between a vehicle’s head unit, devices, and systems and to manage the ...
