SIMI VALLEY, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/22/14 -- This year marks twenty five years since President Reagan left the White House and ten years since our nation mourned his death. On June 5, 2014, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation will commemorate these anniversaries with a special program at his Presidential Library that will focus on his legacy and impact on the country after so many years since leaving office.
"It is really hard for me to believe that Ronnie has been gone for ten years," said former first lady Nancy Reagan. "I still feel his presence every day and often find him in my dreams at night. Many people have told me how much they wish we could have 'another Ronald Reagan' back in Washington, and I can't argue their logic, but for me there will be only the one Ronald Reagan, a man that was both the love of my life and one of the greatest leaders this country has ever produced."
The day-long event includes a morning reception and welcoming remarks, a panelist session, moderated by Peggy Noonan, to discuss Ronald Reagan's legacy and his impact in today's politics, and a luncheon keynote address, featuring Secretary James Baker. Panelists include President Reagan biographers Dr. Steven Hayward, Mr. Lou Cannon, and Mr. Craig Shirley, as well as Time Magazine Executive Editor Mike Duffy.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the legacy of Ronald Reagan and his timeless principles of individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy, and national pride. It sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Learning Center and The Air Force One Pavilion. Located in Simi Valley, California the Library houses 63 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. It now also serves as the final resting place of America's 40th President. www.reaganfoundation.org
Web Real-Time Communication APIs have quickly revolutionized what browsers are capable of. In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.
