Overture today announced it has won a Global Telecom Business Innovation award in conjunction with Global Capacity for the companies’ “High-performance Wholesale Service Delivery in a Hybrid Network Environment” solution. The companies received the awards for Global Capacity’s One Hub interconnection to One Marketplace using Overture’s Carrier Ethernet Platforms.
Global Capacity’s One Hub provides a flexible, consolidated Ethernet interconnection through which buyers gain extended access to Ethernet in over 380 markets while at the same time accommodating the TDM requirements in their network without losing any functionality or requiring any additional equipment. With access to Global Capacity’s One Marketplace, service providers can use a single interconnect to procure and connect to their end customers using Ethernet over Fiber, Ethernet over TDM and legacy TDM services, gaining near ubiquitous reach.
“Global Capacity is honored to receive the 2014 GTB Innovation Award for Wholesale Service Innovation in collaboration with our strategic partner, Overture Networks,” says Jack Lodge, President of Global Capacity. “The flexible hybrid functionality of the 6000 and 6500 platforms fit seamlessly within our One Hub and One Marketplace architecture, allowing us to bring performance-assured Ethernet to thousands of new customer locations.”
Leveraging Overture, One Marketplace offers customers MEF-certified, performance-assured Ethernet, and TDM-based IP services delivered over the same layer 2 Ethernet interconnection. This wholesale service allows Global Capacity to provide customers tailored access circuits through any of its suppliers’ networks, over any last-mile infrastructure.
“We value our strong relationship with Global Capacity and are pleased to be supporting One Marketplace and its One Hub interconnect so that their customers can more efficiently and cost-effectively migrate to next-generation networks,” said Mike Aquino, President and CEO, Overture. “It’s rewarding to receive recognition for our role in Global Capacity’s innovative wholesale service.”
