Admedo Incorporates Digital Element’s IP Geolocation Technology into its Self-Serve Advertising Platform

Digital Element, the leading provider of IP geolocation technology, today announced that Admedo, a leading online advertising demand-side platform, has deployed its NetAcuity Edge® hyperlocal geolocation technology to increase advertising relevancy.

Admedo provides advertisers and agencies with a self-serve advertising platform that allows real-time bidding, display retargeting, advertising optimisation and reporting. Adding location as a targeting criterion to the platform’s capability provides more relevant advertising to specific geographies; increasing media spend efficiencies and ROI.

Nick Moutter, CEO, Admedo, commented: “Digital Element's IP geolocation technology enables us to provide our clients with the ability to target ads that are appropriate and relevant for their target audiences. As a result of using this technology, we have been able to drive down bid rates and increase client campaign CTR by up to five times, resulting in significant savings over a more general targeting strategy.”

Founded in 1999, Digital Element is the industry pioneer of IP geolocation technology, and its NetAcuity Edge technology has revolutionised the IP geolocation space. By combining IP routing infrastructure analysis with anonymous location insight gleaned from a network of global commercial partners, NetAcuity Edge provides the most detailed, hyperlocal dataset available worldwide today that maintains user anonymity and complies with the highest standards of end-user privacy.

“We are thrilled to be working with Admedo, helping to deliver more relevant and efficient advertising campaigns for their clients,’’ commented Charlie Johnson, Digital Element’s Senior Media Director, Europe. “Connecting with users in a meaningful way is core to a campaign’s success, we are pleased to be helping Admedo advance their product offering.’’

Admedo joins some of Digital Element’s other high-profile advertising platform clients including Microsoft, DoubleClick, Collective, MediaMath, Crimtan, AOL’s ADTECH and Yahoo’s BlueLithium.

In IT, we sometimes coin terms for things before we know exactly what they are and how they’ll be used. The resulting terms may capture a common set of aspirations and goals – as “cloud” did broadly for on-demand, self-service, and flexible computing. But such a term can also lump together diverse and even competing practices, technologies, and priorities to the point where important distinctions are glossed over and lost.
