Korea’s leading machine translation solutions provider CSLi Co. (www.csli.co.kr) announced today that it has acquired French-based SYSTRAN, the world's leading machine translation solutions provider. With the acquisition of SYSTRAN, CSLi has changed its corporate name to SYSTRAN INTERNATIONAL, stepping up to the world's top position in the machine translation solutions market.
Headquartered in Paris, France, SYSTRAN is the world's largest machine translation solutions company, which was founded in 1968. The company provides translation services in 89 languages and has the world's most extensive language databases and dictionaries. Thanks to the advanced technologies and solutions, the company has supplied translation software to corporations and government agencies around the world including the U.S. Department of Defense and the EU.
CSLi's agreement to acquire SYSTRAN would become the largest deal to date in the Korean software sector. Three investment companies - STIC Investments, Korea Investment Partners and Softbank Ventures, and one securities company, Korea Investment & Securities, have participated in the deal. The deal has elevated the newly formed SYSTRAN INTERNATIONAL to the top in the worldwide translation software market, making it Korea's first and only company to reach that position. SYSTRAN INTERNATIONAL is aggressively looking at making deeper inroads in new markets both at home and abroad as the world's top multilingual translation solutions provider.
