TeamSnap, used by nearly 7 million people around the world to coordinate their sports and other ongoing activities, today announced it will serve as a sponsor of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Penguins Hockey Development during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 National Hockey League seasons.
More than 60 percent of TeamSnap’s customers are using the company’s top-rated mobile app to schedule games, see player availability, track important statistics and make payments.
“We are thrilled about our partnership with TeamSnap. Their unparalleled team management services will be a great new offering for our various youth hockey initiatives,” said Robbie Hofmann, Director of Corporate Sales, Pittsburgh Penguins.
The sponsorship will provide TeamSnap with various branding opportunities, both online and offline, specifically targeting the Penguins grassroots hockey initiatives including the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite AAA Organization and Penguins Hockey Development, which operates a series of camps, clinics and skill development programs throughout the Pittsburgh region.
“We’re honored to partner with such a great team that’s so committed to the sport community,” said Ken McDonald, VP of Customer Acquisition, TeamSnap. “The Penguins’ focus on amateur hockey development is a big interest for us and is aligned with our goals of bringing the joys of participating in sports to everyone.”
The Pittsburgh Penguins are committed to growing hockey at all levels. Over the past five years, youth hockey enrollment at the 10 & under age group has increased by 120% in Western Pennsylvania, making Pittsburgh the fastest-growing region in the United States. “Our goal is to continue that trend, offering entry level youth hockey programming, camps, clinics and tournaments throughout the year – and featuring some of the best instructors in the country. Whether you are a beginner or an elite-level player, Penguins Hockey Development is here to serve you.” said Rich Hixon, Executive Director of Strategic Planning, Pittsburgh Penguins.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
