Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW), today announced the continued global expansion of its cloud services portfolio with the addition of solutions from SoftLayer, an IBM Company. Through a new reseller agreement, Arrow will distribute SoftLayer cloud services in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Softlayer offers unique benefits to customers seeking a high-performance infrastructure cloud service, including bare metal and virtual servers in one platform and with a seamless global network for exceptional performance, flexibility and control.
“This new relationship with SoftLayer further demonstrates Arrow’s commitment to delivering value-added aggregation of cloud services that are aligned with and complementary to our data-center offerings,” said Sean Kerins, president of Arrow’s global enterprise computing solutions segment. “We look forward to recruiting and enabling solution providers to sell SoftLayer cloud infrastructure offerings by coupling our comprehensive services support with our IBM hardware and software relationships, expertise and offerings.”
“Arrow is proud to offer the SoftLayer product set through ArrowSphere, a cloud aggregation platform that was launched in EMEA in 2012 before being expanded into North America,” said Laurent Sadoun, president of the EMEA region and worldwide services for Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions segment. “The addition of SoftLayer to ArrowSphere is further validation of the value our platform brings to the channel.”
The modular ArrowSphere platform provides automated provisioning and consolidated billing for cloud services from leading service providers, facilitating transactions with more than 500 customers every day. In addition to ArrowSphere, Arrow enables the transformation of the channel to the cloud through workshops, business transformation roadmaps and tools to build and scale cloud practices.
“Arrow brings the global presence, comprehensive sales, marketing support and on- and off-premise expertise to provide enhanced support to SoftLayer’s partner community,” said Tom Blair, senior vice president of global sales for SoftLayer. “Additionally, its long-standing support for IBM and its partner community made it an ideal fit for supporting IBM solution providers and their customers in their transition to the cloud.”
“As a SoftLayer Partner, we are excited to leverage the ArrowSphere platform to assist with our delivery of SoftLayer solutions to customers,” said John McCarthy, president of Mainline. “We look forward to leveraging Arrow’s robust sales training, pre-sales technical support, and marketing to expand our SoftLayer’s business.”
