Million Dollar Round Table Returns to Metro Toronto Convention Centre for Major International Conference

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/14 -- More than 8,500 attendees representing 57 countries will visit Toronto June 7 to 12 as the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the premiere association for financial professionals, holds its annual conference at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC). This is the sixth time the international conference has been held in Toronto, the first being in 1930.

"Toronto is a great destination for our members - the city is beautiful and easily accessible to hotels and airports, which is important when members attend from around the world," said Jeanne Malone, CMP, Meeting Services Director at MDRT. "There are also great restaurants, shopping and attractions members can enjoy while attending the meeting."

The MDRT is one of the largest conferences held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in 2014. Its attendees represent an influx of $24 million to the Toronto economy, an impact that will be felt during the start of the city's peak tourist season. To remain internationally competitive, MTCC recently completed a $30 million modernization project, which has helped secure major conference bookings as far out as 2022.

"The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is a modern facility with spacious meeting rooms and provides terrific amenities and technology, all of which allow MDRT to offer a comfortable and positive meeting experience for our attendees," said Malone. "In addition, we have worked with the staff at the centre several times and their responsiveness and attention to detail is top-notch."

An investment in advanced information technology assists conference and meeting planners in delivering current best platforms for attendees. For example, the MDRT will offer a mix of educational and inspirational presentations on its main platform, which will be available in 12 languages; many of the more than 60 educational focus sessions will also be translated into multiple languages.

"Toronto is an ideal city to host this annual conference and we are pleased to welcome the MDRT back to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre," says CEO Barry Smith. "Our modernization project has brought an exciting vibrancy to our facility and we are thrilled to attract conferences such as this one as they bring with them a direct economic benefit to Toronto and Ontario."

It's easy to assume that your app will run on a fast and reliable network. The reality for your app's users, though, is often a slow, unreliable network with spotty coverage. What happens when the network doesn't work, or when the device is in airplane mode? You get unhappy, frustrated users. An offline-first app is an app that works, without error, when there is no network connection.
