Amsterdam, NL Hotel Marches Into the Future With Mobile Guest Services

From Check-In to Check-Out, Guests of the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel Can Do It All From the Palm of Their Hands

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/14 -- It has been claimed that technology's purpose is to enhance the quality of our lives, but few advancements have done so as unequivocally as the app. While computers can bring business to a standstill when they malfunction, the app offers a reliable array of tantalizing opportunities to live life better. Want to establish a matrix for fitness? No problem. Feel like learning a new language? Presto! And now, thanks to Marriott's groundbreaking app, people can simplify travel to the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel in a number of exciting ways.

Launched within the brand's remaining 148 international properties on May 6, 2014, Marriott's Mobile Guest Services app promises to revolutionize visitors' experience of this premier Amsterdam lodging. Now travelers can use their iPhones or Androids to access the app and perform a variety of actions, starting with mobile check-in.

As visitors embark upon their journey, the app sends a reminder to check-in as well as an alert when their room is ready. Guests also have the option to submit an arrival time, thereby helping to ensure their room's readiness when they arrive. And the arrival experience for mobile check-in guests surpasses anything else available at other Amsterdam hotels near museums. Guests simply bypass traditional check-in lines to collect their room key at a designated area and head upstairs.

After enjoying a stay within the hotel's gracious suites and guest rooms, which are located near all the best sights of Amsterdam, visitors will find it is just as easy and pleasant to check out. As they prepare to depart this city hotel in Amsterdam, the mobile check-out feature notifies them of check-out, gives them the option of an emailed invoice and, once complete, a virtual confirmation that check-out is complete. As a result, guests are spared a trip to the front desk on their way to the airport.

Available to all 45 million Marriott Rewards and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards members in a number of language platforms, including English, Mandarin, French, German and Spanish, the Mobile Guest Services app represents Marriott's ongoing commitment to the next generation of travelers. No other brand provides a comprehensive mobile-services offering like Marriott's, and that's just one way the brand is supporting individual hotels like this one in creating the most relevant hospitality experience possible.

"Storpool does only block-level storage so we do one thing extremely well. As Marc Andreessen says software is eating the world. Everything is rapidly moving toward being software-defined – from our phones and cars through our washing machines to the datacenter. Blockchain. A day doesn’t seem to go by without seeing articles and discussions about the technology. According to PwC executive Seamus Cushley, approximately $1.4B has been invested in blockchain just last year. In Gartner’s recent hype cycle for emerging technologies, blockchain is approaching the peak. It is considered by Gartner as one of the ‘Key platform-enabling technologies to track.’ While there is a lot of ‘hype vs reality’ discussions going on, there is no arguing that blockchain is b...

You know you need the cloud, but you’re hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You’re looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you’re concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies.

The cloud era has reached the stage where it is no longer a question of whether a company should migrate, but when. Enterprises have embraced the outsourcing of where their various applications are stored and who manages them, saving significant investment along the way. The media, of course, continues to extol the virtues of the cloud, including how easy it is to get there. Migrating...
The use of containers by developers -- and now increasingly IT operators -- has grown from infatuation to deep and abiding love.
