MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/07/14 -- Arquitectonica, the global architecture firm headquartered in Miami, Florida, has been selected as one of the leading American firms with a worldwide practice to represent the United States at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, this year titled "Fundamentals," one of the most prestigious architecture exhibitions in the world. Arquitectonica will participate in OFFICEUS, the U.S. Pavilion's exploration of the most remarkable architectural works produced abroad by American architects over the past 100 years.
Since its founding in 1977, Arquitectonica has become recognized globally on the architecture scene for its excellence and innovation in architectural design, creating many of the world's most iconic buildings, with sophisticated surface patterning and facade articulation. Its bold colored structures are graphic in form with Arquitectonica's signature style of dramatic, expressive, high-tech modernism. Four of the twenty Arquitectonica projects on exhibit and published in the OFFICEUS Atlas, that will be featured at the Biennale are The Gate Towers and the Sun & Sky Towers in Abu Dhabi, the Cyberport Technology Campus & Le Meridian in Hong Kong, Menara Karya in Jakarta and the Exaltis Tower at La Défense in Paris.
The Architecture Biennale in Venice has been one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world, attracting the brightest and most esteemed architects from each country. Established in 1895, the Biennale currently welcomes over 370,000 visitors and since its foundation, has been at the forefront in the research and promotion of new artistic trends. Rem Koolhaas will curate the 2014 International Architecture Exhibition whose aim is to create an exceptional, research-centered Architecture Biennale.
What began as an experimental studio, Arquitectonica now has practices globally.
