Starz Digital Media Brings “Power” to UK Audiences for Early Digital Purchase

Starz Digital Media, the global digital and on-demand licensing and content syndication arm of Starz, announced an early digital purchase opportunity in the UK for the widely-anticipated new STARZ Original series, “Power.” Beginning today, the first full hour-long episode of “Power,” from Executive Producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Creator/Showrunner/Executive Producer Courtney Kemp Agboh, is available in the UK with select digital partners.

Digital electronic sell-through (EST) purchases in the UK are now available through (alphabetically); Amazon Instant Video, blinkbox, Google Play, iTunes, Sony Entertainment Network, and Xbox Video.

New episodes will be made available for individual purchase in the UK on Mondays following the exclusive Saturday night premiere on the STARZ premium pay TV network in the United States. Discounted full season purchases are also available beginning today with new episodic content delivered concurrent with episode availability.

“Enthusiasm from our digital partners in the United Kingdom for the latest STARZ Original series, ‘Power,’ led us to give UK fans a unique opportunity to purchase episodes the next business day after their respective worldwide premieres,” said Mara Winokur, Senior Vice President, Digital at Starz Digital Media.

Winokur continued, “’Power’ is a contemporary drama that will especially appeal to younger demographic audiences. Coupled with strong cross-promotional interest from our partners for Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson’s recently released new album, ‘Animal Ambition,’ which features select songs from ‘Power,’ and interest in this market is piqued for the hot new series.”

About “Power”

“Power” tells the story of a visionary crime drama set in two different worlds, the glamorous New York club scene and the brutal drug trade.

James “Ghost” St. Patrick has it all: a beautiful wife, a gorgeous Manhattan penthouse, and the hottest, up-and-coming new nightclub in New York. His club, Truth, caters to the elite: the famous and infamous boldface names that run the city that never sleeps. As its success grows, so do Ghost’s plans to build an empire. However, Truth hides an ugly reality. It’s a front for Ghost’s criminal underworld; a lucrative drug network, serving only the wealthy and powerful.

As Ghost is seduced by the prospect of a legitimate life, everything precious to him becomes unknowingly threatened. Once you’re in, can you ever get out?

The cast is led by Omari Hardwick (Sparkle, For Colored Girls, Kick Ass, “Being Mary Jane”) and joined by Lela Loren (Snitch, “Gang Related”), Naturi Naughton (Fame, “The Client List,” “Mad Men”) and Joseph Sikora (Jack Reacher, Safe, “Boardwalk Empire”). Hardwick stars as main character ‘James “Ghost” St. Patrick’; Loren plays ‘Angela Valdes,’ an old flame of James’s who unexpectedly reenters his life; Naughton plays ‘Tasha St. Patrick,’ wife, confidant and willing accomplice to James and Sikora plays ‘Tommy Egan,’ childhood best friend and business partner to “Ghost.”

The series is created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (Emmy® nominated for "The Good Wife"), and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Mark Canton (300, Immortals, 300: Rise of an Empire), Randall Emmett (End of Watch, 2 Guns, Lone Survivor) and David Knoller (“Big Love,” “Carnivàle”) also serve as executive producers. The series is produced in association with CBS Television Studios.

The first episode of “Power” premiered on STARZ on June 7, 2014, as part of its eight episode first season, with each episode one hour in length.

Enterprise IT has been in the era of Hybrid Cloud for some time now. But it seems most conversations about Hybrid are focused on integrating AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google ECM into existing on-premises systems. Where is all the Private Cloud? What do technology providers need to do to make their offerings more compelling? How should enterprise IT executives and buyers define their focus, needs, and roadmap, and communicate that clearly to the providers?

According to Forrester Research, every business will become either a digital predator or digital prey by 2020. To avoid demise, organizations must rapidly create new sources of value in their end-to-end customer experiences. True digital predators also must break down information and process silos and extend digital transformation initiatives to empower employees with the digital resources needed to win, serve, and retain customers.

Organizations planning enterprise data center consolidation and modernization projects are faced with a challenging, costly reality. Requirements to deploy modern, cloud-native applications simultaneously with traditional client/server applications are almost impossible to achieve with hardware-centric enterprise infrastructure. We're entering the post-smartphone era, where wearable gadgets from watches and fitness bands to glasses and health aids will power the next technological revolution. With mass adoption of wearable devices comes a new data ecosystem that must be protected. Whether your IoT service is connecting cars, homes, appliances, wearable, cameras or other devices, one question hangs in the balance – how do you actually make money from this service? Between 2005 and 2020, data volumes will grow by a factor of 300 – enough data to stack CDs from the earth to the moon 162 times. This has come to be known as the ‘big data’ phenomenon. Unfortunately, traditional approaches to handling, storing and analyzing data aren’t adequate at this scale: they’re too costly, slow and physically cumbersome to keep up. Fortunately, in response a new breed of technology has emerged that is cheaper, faster and more scalable. Yet, in meeting these new needs they...
Complete Internet of Things (IoT) embedded device security is not just about the device but involves the entire product’s identity, data and control integrity, and services traversing the cloud. A device can no longer be looked at as an island; it is a part of a system. In fact, given the cross-domain interactions enabled by IoT it could be a part of many systems. Also, depending on where the device is deployed, for example, in the office building versus a factory floor or oil field, security ha...
An IoT product’s log files speak volumes about what’s happening with your products in the field, pinpointing current and potential issues, and enabling you to predict failures and save millions of dollars in inventory.
