Good day everyone! In our recent set of IT camps we talked about Windows 8.1 in the enterprise, one of the topics we discussed was deployment technologies. So I decided to put together a series of screencasts to talk about deploying Windows 8.1. More importantly throughout these screencasts all the tools I will show are FREE or built-in to Windows Server 2012 R2.
In this part I take a quick tour of deployment technologies and tools. You will also see a full deployment in action. Enjoy!

- Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (WADK) for Windows 8.1: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39982
- My peers in Canada did an excellent series on Deployment, Part 1 of their series is very good take a look here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/03/18/windows-8-1-deployment-from-the-ground-up.aspx
I hope you enjoyed the screencast, if you have any comments or suggested topics just let me know!

In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Claude Remillard, Principal Program Manager in Developer Division at Microsoft, contrasted how his team used config as code and immutable patterns for continuous delivery of microservices and apps to the cloud. He showed how the immutable patterns helps developers do away with most of the complexity of config as code-enabling scenarios such as rollback, zero downtime upgrades with far greater simplicity. He also demoed building immutable pipelines in the cloud ...
