REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN -- (Marketwired) -- 06/09/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage
The Government of Canada is providing the Regina International Open Theatre Society with funding for the 2014 Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival.
On behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Ray Boughen, Member of Parliament (Palliser), today announced $10,100 in funding.
- Through its annual festival, the Regina International Open Theatre Society brings live independent fringe theatre to Regina and southern Saskatchewan audiences of all ages.
- The 10th Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival is taking place from July 9 to 13, 2014.
- This year's festival will feature performing artists from local, Canadian and international touring companies and include theatrical, musical and storytelling performances, as well as a Kid's Fringe.
- The Government of Canada is providing this funding through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
