MEDHOST, Inc., a provider of market-leading enterprise, departmental and healthcare engagement solutions, today announced that Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center, located in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, is successfully submitting public health data through MEDHOST YourCareLink to the Kentucky Health Information Exchange (KHIE). As the designated intermediary to public health agencies for the state of Kentucky, KHIE is responsible for transmitting data to state-identified public health reporting registries.
MEDHOST YourCareLink is a turn-key service that manages state reporting requirements for syndromic surveillance, lab results and immunization registries. YourCareLink is a hosted solution and provides ongoing submission reporting in the event of a CMS audit.
Rockcastle, which is comprised of a 26-bed acute care facility and a 93-bed skilled-nursing facility, needed a way to meet the challenging public health reporting requirement of Meaningful Use Stage 2 without further taxing its IT staff. The scalability of YourCareLink has allowed Rockcastle to begin the process of sending transition of care information to the state.
“This is a labor-intensive Stage 2 requirement, but YourCareLink and the support MEDHOST provides enables us to submit the required data without causing any disruption to or changing our regular workflow,” said Maleigha Amyx, I.S. director at Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center. “We have also found value in the ability to expand the information we send to the state. YourCareLink will continue to play a key role in helping us meet Meaningful Use Stage 2 goals.”
MEDHOST actively monitors the facility-to-state data feed, and to minimize the strain on hospital staff, YourCareLink more proactively identifies and corrects any data transmission errors.
“YourCareLink is an easy way for healthcare facilities to send public health information data to their state while freeing hospital IT staff to focus on other projects,” said Joe Wortmann, vice president of outsourced services for MEDHOST Professional Services, LLC. “We are excited Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center is live with YourCareLink. It’s rewarding to be part of their Meaningful Use Stage 2 attestation strategy.”
MEDHOST Professional Services includes a full portfolio of offerings that hospitals can customize according to their needs. This set of services is designed to help hospitals maximize enterprise efficiency, reduce costs and meet regulatory requirements such as Meaningful Use. In addition to YourCareLink, MEDHOST Professional Services are comprised of YourCareCommunity, Outsourced Services and Professional Consulting.
