Today, Metanoia Communications, a leading provider of semiconductor products for the wireline broadband market, announces the use of Metanoia’s VDSL2 chipset, the MT2311, by Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, for its fiber-to-the-door (FTTD) equipment.
Emergence of new services offered by Service Providers requires pushing the limits in terms of available data throughput over existing single copper, and to make it an easy-n-fast deployment scenario versus bringing Fiber to the household. By leveraging the capabilities of the MT2311 chipset, Huawei’s FTTD solution can achieve up to 300 Mb/s aggregate data rate and employ a higher-efficiency encoding scheme, which provides more reliable line quality.
"Metanoia’s VDSL2 chipset was the most competitive semiconductor solution that offered the high-performance data-rate required for our 300 Mb/s FTTD solution," said Mr. Han YuFa, GM of Huawei’s Access Network Product Line. “Delivering outstanding access speed over existing copper with high efficiency helps us to deliver competitive advantages to the broadband operators.”
The MT2311 chipset is the unique single port VDSL2 solution available on the market, which can be used on the CO or the CPE side. By integrating the memory in the MT2311 device, and the line driver within the AFE (MT3301), Metanoia’s VDSL2 solution is offering outstanding performances with the lowest power consumption in a compact module design.
“Being the VDSL2 chipset of choice for Huawei’s FTTD platform is a recognition of our VDSL2 technology,” said CT WU, President of Metanoia. “By bringing to the market the first programmable VDSL2 single port solution, market like FTTdp (Fiber to the distribution point) can be better served on both the CO and CPE side.”
Huawei is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider. A strange thing is happening along the way to the Internet of Things, namely far too many devices to work with and manage. It has become clear that we'll need much higher efficiency user experiences that can allow us to more easily and scalably work with the thousands of devices that will soon be in each of our lives. Enter the conversational interface revolution, combining bots we can literally talk with, gesture to, and even direct with our thoughts, with embedded artificial intelligence, wh...
