WEST JORDAN, UT -- (Marketwired) -- 06/11/14 -- Mountain America Credit Union was recently rated the top small business lending credit union in Utah and the United States for the 2013 fiscal year according to Callahan and Associates*, a national credit union research firm. This is the tenth consecutive year Mountain America has been honored with the top spot. Mountain America was number one in the total of approved loans and also for the total dollar volume of loans.
"We are honored to be recognized again as the top small business lending credit union in Utah and the United States," says David Doria, vice president of SBA for Mountain America. "We are proud that we can provide the owners of small businesses the necessary capital with low rates and flexible terms."
Mountain America operates under the SBA's Preferred Lender Program (PLP), which is part of SBA's effort to streamline the procedures necessary to provide financial assistance to the small business community. Under this program, SBA delegates the final credit decision and most servicing and liquidation authority and responsibility to carefully selected PLP lenders such as Mountain America. Streamlined programs like this significantly reduce the time required to approve financing.
