HENSALL, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/13/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage
The Government of Canada has provided $182,700 through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to support the renovation of the Hensall Town Hall.
Ben Lobb, Member of Parliament (Huron-Bruce), announced the funding today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
With this support, the Municipality of Bluewater will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Town Hall's construction in 1914 by restoring its upper room so it can be used by the community.
-- The upper room was used as a performance hall from 1914 to1975, when structural concerns forced it to be closed to public use. -- These upgrades will allow the performance hall to become a fully accessible community performance space for both smaller professional productions and community presentations.
"The Government of Canada is proud to invest in this commemorative project that will see an unused room transformed into a fully functional performance space, all while providing the community with a lasting legacy of its past."
-The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
"The Hensall Town Hall is an important gathering place for the community, but sadly its second floor performance hall has fallen into disuse over the past years. With the Government of Canada's support, it will be restored into a space that all will enjoy for many years to come."
-Ben Lobb, Member of Parliament (Huron-Bruce)
"On behalf of the Municipality of Bluewater and the community of Hensall, we thank Canadian Heritage for this generous contribution toward the restoration of our Opera House on this the 100th anniversary of the Hensall Town Hall. Very soon the Town Hall will once again be the cultural heart of the community with plays, concerts, and dances being performed year round."
-Bill Dowson, Mayor of the Municipality of Bluewater

Culture is the most important ingredient of DevOps. The challenge for most organizations is defining and communicating a vision of beneficial DevOps culture for their organizations, and then facilitating the changes needed to achieve that. Often this comes down to an ability to provide true leadership. As a CIO, are your direct reports IT managers or are they IT leaders? The hard truth is that many IT managers have risen through the ranks based on their technical skills, not their leadership ab...

In today's digital world, change is the one constant. Disruptive innovations like cloud, mobility, social media, and the Internet of Things have reshaped the market and set new standards in customer expectations. To remain competitive, businesses must tap the potential of emerging technologies and markets through the rapid release of new products and services. Amazon and Google have built software-defined data centers (SDDCs) that deliver massively scalable services with great efficiency. Yet, building SDDCs has proven to be a near impossibility for ‘normal’ companies without hyper-scale resources. In his session at 17th Cloud Expo, David Cauthron, founder and chief executive officer of Nimboxx, will discuss the evolution of virtualization (hardware, application, memory, storage) and how commodity / open source hyper converged infrastructure (HCI) so...

Enterprises can achieve rigorous IT security as well as improved DevOps practices and Cloud economics by taking a new, cloud-native approach to application delivery. Because the attack surface for cloud applications is dramatically different than for highly controlled data centers, a disciplined and multi-layered approach that spans all of your processes, staff, vendors and technologies is required. This may sound expensive and time consuming to achieve as you plan how to move selected applicati...
