CE Week 2014 to Feature Record Number of International Companies

CE Week 2014 announced today that the largest delegation of international companies in show history will participate in the upcoming event. CE Week is the CE industry’s top annual mid-year event, bringing together media, analysts and technology thought leaders for product debuts, a robust conference program and networking events all focused on innovative technology. CE Week 2014 is scheduled June 23-27 in New York City, with the CE Week Exhibits and Conference Program scheduled June 25-26 at the Metropolitan Pavilion/Altman Building.

Technology companies from around the globe will participate in CE Week 2014, with international companies including PulseOn, Tablo (Nuvyyo), Xcrool Inc., Piper, ROCKI, ReSound, WHOOSH!, Matter and Form, Bio Sensor Labs and Lima.

“We are thrilled to be part of this year’s CE Week and a chosen company to exhibit in the Innovation Zone,” said Nick Yap, CEO and Founder of ROCKI, based in the Netherlands. “New York is a hub for influential consumers, media and networking. Everyone who is anyone is in New York and we are excited to extend our reach within the U.S. market and continue to build our brand by exhibiting during CE Week 2014.”

The global consumer technology market continues to soar, with new innovations creating jobs and spurring economic growth. In fact, research from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® and GfK estimates that global spending on consumer technology products will reach $1.1 trillion in 2014, a significant increase over the projected 2013 figures of $1 trillion USD. Market drivers behind consumer spending include a continued surge of smartphone demand, as well as an increase in TV sales as global events, such as the World Cup, drive purchases.

"WHOOSH! is excited to exhibit our line of award-winning screen cleaners at CE Week again this year,” said Jason Greenspan, CEO of Toronto-based WHOOSH! “As a Canadian headquartered company, we find CE Week to be a fantastic mid-year event to connect with CE industry professionals, media and buyers in advance of the upcoming back-to-school and holiday seasons."

CE Week 2014 serves a major industry destination, drawing more than 1,000 media, analysts and retailers. The show features more than 150 participating companies including technology startups as well as major tech giants including DISH, Epson, LG, Pandora, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TiVo and Westinghouse. CE Week events, conferences and exhibits will highlight the latest industry trends from connected car technologies to wearables, digital health and fitness, the next generation of TV, 3D printing and beyond.

“CE Week picks up for us where the International CES left off,” said Drew Cox, founder and CEO of Matter and Form Inc., based in Toronto, Canada. “We had raised our funds and finished the design and were able to show the world what it will look like. So now that the Matter and Form 3D Scanner is on the production line and officially shipping in just a few short weeks, we couldn't be happier that CE Week is the place to finally tell the world "we're here!"

A critical component of any IoT project is what to do with all the data being generated. This data needs to be captured, processed, structured, and stored in a way to facilitate different kinds of queries. Traditional data warehouse and analytical systems are mature technologies that can be used to handle certain kinds of queries, but they are not always well suited to many problems, particularly when there is a need for real-time insights.
