Skillz Granted Two New Patents

Skillz (, the world’s premier cash competition platform for mobile games, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued two new patents: U.S. Patent 8,414,387 which relates to a peer-to-peer software platform that enables wagering on online skill-based games and U.S. Patent 8,715,077 which relates to dynamic advertising based on gameplay and wagering on online skill-based games. Skillz has exclusive rights to both patented technologies.

Offline cash competitions are a celebrated part of American culture in the form of marathons, bowling leagues, spelling bees, chess tournaments, and rodeos. Online cash competitions have been rapidly gaining popularity with the rise of eSports. Skillz is the first company to invent a technology that facilitates eSports for everyone by bringing these types of skill gaming competitions to mobile.
