SURFCAM 2014 Customer Support Excellence Award Presented to CAMCAD Technologies

CAMCAD Technologies is an award-winning, Central Florida-based provider of innovative manufacturing solutions. Most of CAMCAD's customers, when asked the first name they think of when considering CAMCAD’s services, would answer, Darin Weatherbee.

As manager of CAMCAD’s support desk, Weatherbee is the first stop on the path to answering technical questions. Weatherbee learned everything he could about SURFCAM® computer technology, CAMCAD’s database, the Internet and Microsoft software. As a result, he has become extremely valuable to CAMCAD, and to many customers who aren’t up-to-date with computer technologies.

Donald McKillop, president and founder of CAMCAD, said, “Darin was recommended to us by our top salesman almost 18 years ago. When we asked, what can he do for CAMCAD, the response was, ‘Whatever you need him to do. Hire Darin, you won’t regret it.’ That was true 18 years ago - and it’s still true.”

The technical staff at SURFCAM, Inc. has also noticed Weatherbee’s value as well. According to Peter Marton, General Manager at SURFCAM, during a discussion at SURFCAM, Inc. to choose one reseller organization that demonstrates great customer support, the first person that came to mind was Weatherbee. Both Gordon Kushner, Technology Manager, and John Buehler, Product Manager, concurred, “If we get an email from Darin, we pay attention! He’s always very specific about any issue, he details out the problem, gives examples, and many times suggests a solution.” For these reasons, Weatherbee was presented with the SURFCAM, Inc. 2014 Customer Support Excellence Award representing CAMCAD Technologies, Inc.

SURFCAM® is a well-respected, powerful 3-D CAM product that helps milling and metal-cutting businesses be more productive and profitable. Vero Software, the world's largest CAM specialist, acquired SURFCAM from Surfware, Inc. in 2013.

Founded in 1991, CAMCAD Technologies provides companies with CAM software, edit-free post processors, custom applications, reverse engineering and contract part programming. CAMCAD Technologies has consistently been ranked as a top reseller of SURFCAM for the past 22 years.

IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...

Today we can collect lots and lots of performance data. We build beautiful dashboards and even have fancy query languages to access and transform the data. Still performance data is a secret language only a couple of people understand. The more business becomes digital the more stakeholders are interested in this data including how it relates to business. Some of these people have never used a monitoring tool before. They have a question on their mind like “How is my application doing” but no id...
