Adesto Technologies, the inventor and market leader of the world’s lowest power memory solutions, today announced the shipment of its one millionth CBRAM product. CBRAM® is the world’s first commercially available resistive memory — a disruptive technology platform that enables fast and extremely low-power operation for energy-conscious consumer, medical, computing and industrial applications. CBRAM uses 100 times less energy than today’s leading memory technologies without sacrificing system performance.
“The adoption of CBRAM technology demonstrates the need for a new class of application-specific memory to enable the next generation of connected devices,“ said Narbeh Derhacobian, Chief Executive Officer. “Devices based on CBRAM can operate with significant reduction in power consumption, allowing longer battery life. This powerful capability will enable previously unimagined products such as the autonomous connected devices that are critical to the Internet of Things.”
The inherent advantages of the technology are a natural match for many energy-conscious applications, such as devices designed to use the Bluetooth low energy (BLE) protocol, ANT+, ZigBee, and other Wi-Fi platforms common in wearable electronics and sensory systems.
Backed by more than 100 patents, Adesto’s proprietary CBRAM can be integrated in standard CMOS processes, function as a discrete memory device or be embedded in microcontrollers and System-on-Chip (SOC) applications.
“In addition to the adoption of discrete CBRAM products into code-storage applications, we anticipate accelerated development from customers licensing our technology for embedded applications such as devices integrated into wearable technologies,” said Derhacobian. “These partnerships will broaden the penetration of CBRAM and introduce more end-users to its significant benefits.”

What does it look like when you have access to cloud infrastructure and platform under the same roof? Let’s talk about the different layers of Technology as a Service: who cares, what runs where, and how does it all fit together. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Phil Jackson, Lead Technology Evangelist at SoftLayer, an IBM company, spoke about the picture being painted by IBM Cloud and how the tools being crafted can help fill the gaps in your IT infrastructure.
