LONDON, ENGLAND -- (Marketwired) -- 06/19/14 -- The World Finance Banking Awards 2014 are fast approaching, and with this comes a chance to see the companies and individuals that have redefined the banking landscape and set the wheels of change in motion.
After years spent on the periphery, banking is back and again driving regional economies. Competition is back to pre-crisis levels, new players are emerging in long underserved and rapidly developing markets, and firms are going that extra mile to satisfy stakeholders in all they do.
With only a few months to go before we announce the winners of the 2014 World Finance Banking Awards, we've decided to unveil some of the names that have been nominated so far.
Little over a year on from his appointment as ING Belgium's CEO, Rik Vandenberghe stands alongside UBS's Sergio Eermotti and Credit Suisse's Brady Dougan, with Espirito Santo Investment Bank's Jose Maria Ricciardi and Societe Generale's Frederic Oudea also in the running as best bankers in their respective jurisdictions.
With the nominees already making for an impressive roster of banking talent, the World Finance Award recipients represent only the most capable of personnel and enterprising of companies.
The final announcement of this year's World Finance Banking Award winners is due in the September October issue of the magazine, which will offer an insight into the path breaking changes being made in the banking industry and a look at those spearheading the transformation.
