TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/20/14 -- Ecclesiastical Insurance is delighted to continue to work with the Canadian Museums Association (CMA) as the national corporate sponsor for the Governor General's History Award for Excellence in Museums: History Alive! This will be the third consecutive year that Ecclesiastical is sponsoring the award. History Alive! recognizes innovation and excellence in the preservation of national, regional and local history, and in the public programming of museums and related organizations.
"With over 125 years of experience protecting some of the world's most recognized historic places--from castles to cathedrals--this award is particularly meaningful to us," says Jacinta Whyte, Deputy Group Chief Executive, Ecclesiastical Insurance Group and CEO for Canada. "At Ecclesiastical, our primary goals are to advise and protect those who enrich the lives of others, and to protect and preserve Canada's cultures and heritage. So we are especially pleased to support an award that reflects very similar goals. We are also very proud to be the endorsed insurer of the CMA and to work with Dr. John McAvity, the organization's CEO and Executive Director, on this important effort."
The call for nominations has gone out and museums, art galleries and individuals are invited to submit nominations for the 2014 History Alive! Award. Application forms and documentation are available on the CMA website and Canada's History Society website.
