HOLLYWOOD, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/21/14 -- O'Connell Racing (OConnellRacing.com), a professional motorsports company based in Southern California, announced today that driver Kevin O'Connell will race the #23 Shania Kids Can Chevrolet at both the Gardner Denver 200 at Road America, Wisconsin and Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen, New York this summer in the NASCAR Nationwide Series road course races with Rick Ware Racing.
Kevin O'Connell commented, "This summer is going to be stacked with great racing events and opportunities to market and brand some of our best business partners. Road America and The Glen in the NASCAR Nationwide series are can't miss events and running the Glen in late June with the IMSA Super Trofeo Lamborghini series brings back fond memories of starting out in sports cars. The end of June wraps up with my father, Gus O'Connell and family and friends completing 7 days in the annual Great Race from Maine to Florida in a 1959 Chevrolet Apache. There should be lots to talk about."
Kevin will be paired with one of NASCAR's premier crew chiefs, George Church of New Hampshire for all of the scheduled road course races.
Shania Twain's charity Shania Kids Can will be the primary focus for the month of June on all of the "on track" racing equipment featuring the Shania Kids Can logo for all of the events in which Kevin O'Connell and Rick Ware Racing are competing in including the Great Race, NASCAR and IMSA.
Shania Twain commented, "I'm very happy that Kevin and Rick will be supporting 'Shania Kids Can' in the upcoming racing events; having the SKC logo on the race cars is very exciting and a great way to for the foundation to gain awareness."
