IDG's Computerworld Names SimpliVity to 2014 List of 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology

IDG's Computerworld has announced SimpliVity, the leader in hyperconverged infrastructure for the software-defined data center, as one of its 2014 Best Places to Work in IT, one of 100 top organizations that challenge IT staff while providing great benefits and compensation. SimpliVity was ranked ninth among small organizations on Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT. Winning organizations will be featured in Computerworld along with results from the 21st annual Best Places to Work in IT survey.

“We are honored to be recognized by Computerworld as one of its Best Places to Work in IT for the second consecutive year,” said Doron Kempel, chairman and CEO of SimpliVity. “The success of our mission rests on the shoulders of our team members. It is therefore essential that we establish and maintain state-of-the-art conditions for excellence, while growing 300 percent year over year.”

Today, IT organizations want the best of both worlds: On the one hand, they want the economics that cloud computing provides; and, on the other hand, they want the performance, control and protection they’re accustomed to in their on-premises IT environment. SimpliVity offers its Data Virtualization Platform delivered on hyperconverged infrastructure that ensures performance, capacity, mobility, manageability, and protection of virtual workloads while delivering cloud-scale economics.

SimpliVity’s mission is to simplify IT. The company is facing a remarkably vibrant market opportunity, and has been expanding its personnel to deliver on this mission. SimpliVity invests greatly in programs and systems that facilitate growth, balancing the challenging demands of a mission to revolutionize IT, with numerous benefits. All team members hold stock options and participate in a quarterly bonus program. This core investment is supplemented with a number of “perks,” including free, high-quality lunches, such as the occasional sushi bar, sundae bar or catered barbeque; state-of-the-art IT equipment, labs and facilities; and 100 percent coverage of medical deductibles.

Recently placed in the Visionary quadrant in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Integrated Systems, the company is experiencing tremendous momentum and growth. SimpliVity increased headcount 100 percent in 2013, while rapidly growing its installed base and global footprint. To support this rapid expansion, the company raised $58M in Series C funding in November 2013 from investors Kleiner Perkins Caulfield Byers, DFJ Growth, Meritech Capital Partners, Swisscom, and Accel and Charles River, bringing its total investment to date to $101M.

"Hiring the best and the brightest IT pros, offering them competitive pay and providing top-notch benefits is just the beginning for the outstanding employers on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list," said Scot Finnie, editor-in-chief of Computerworld. "Both newcomers to the list and rock-steady stalwarts nurture their talent with challenging business-critical projects, extensive training opportunities and ongoing career development programs. They invest in their own futures by investing in their employees."

In the case of an application outage, what was the root cause of the outage?
