TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/24/14 -- Carpathian Gold Inc. (TSX:CPN) (the "Corporation" or "Carpathian") announces that the Toronto Stock Exchange has extended the deadline for Carpathian to hold its Annual General Meeting from June 30, 2014 to August 15, 2014. Management applied for the extension because, as previously disclosed, the Corporation was not able to file its annual audited consolidated financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2013 and related management's discussion and analysis by the prescribed filing deadline of March 31, 2014.
The Corporation announced on June 17, 2014 that it had filed its annual audited consolidated financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2013 and related management's discussion and analysis, as well as its interim financial statements for the three-month period ended March 31, 2013 and related management's discussion and analysis. As a result, the management cease trade order granted by the Ontario Securities Commission on April 16, 2014 against the Corporation's Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer has been revoked as of June 19, 2014. Accordingly, restrictions on all securities of the Corporation by its Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer have now been removed.
Carpathian anticipates holding its Annual General Meeting on or about August 12, 2014.
Carpathian is an exploration and development company whose primary business interest is developing near-term gold production at its 100% owned Riacho dos Machados Gold Project in Brazil. In addition, it is also focussed on advancing its exploration and development plans on its 100% owned Rovina Valley Au-Cu Project located in Romania.
