REGION OF PEEL, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/24/14 -- On June 26, 2014, lawyer Nader Hasan of the law firm, Ruby, Shiller, Chan, Hasan Barristers, will present a legal opinion to Peel Regional Councillors arguing that artificial water fluoridation is unconstitutional and illegal. Mr. Hasan is counsel to the Concerned Residents of Peel to End Fluoridation, a group that has been dedicated to ending the artificial fluoridation of Peel's drinking water.
Liesa Cianchino, Chair of the Concerned Residents of Peel to End Fluoridation stated today: "Artificial water fluoridation is a serious health concern. It's high time that the Region looked at the science and end this unsafe, ineffective, unproven, unethical, unnatural and harmful practice."
"There is a growing movement to end artificial water fluoridation in the Region of Peel and Worldwide. Peel residents are not alone. Neighbouring communities in Toronto, Peterborough, Durham, Muskoka, Halton, Hamilton, London and many others are working very hard to end this unsafe and ineffective practice because of the known adverse effects on human health and the environment," said Cianchino.
Community leaders and Councillors from other municipalities plan to attend the June 26 Regional Council meeting, as the question of artificial water fluoridation is an issue of ongoing concern for communities across Ontario and Canada.
