Wmode Inc. Acquires Enterprise Software Company NeoSystems Inc.

Acquisition expands Wmode's mobile enterprise services with products and technologies for CRM and operations management on connected devices

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/25/14 -- Wmode, a leading provider of app ecosystem solutions and services for Cars, TVs, connected devices, and enterprises, announced today the acquisition of NeoSystems, a leading operations management solutions provider.

Wmode and NeoSystems, two privately held companies, are capitalizing on the growing demand for enterprise operations solutions that can be utilized across mobile devices and tablets. The acquisition builds on the 2012 launch of Wmode's enterprise mobility group, increasing its ability to provide scalable solutions and managed services to the growing mobile enterprise market.

Founded in 1992, NeoSystems has become one of Canada's leading providers of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and operations management solutions. Originating as a CRM focused company, President and Founder David Fettig and his team created iTrak®, a world class Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment (QHSE) platform underpinned by Microsoft Dynamics CRM technologies to support on-the-go workforces. "David and his team have been great innovators in supporting their customers' needs in operational management," said Emanuel Bertolin, CEO of Wmode Inc. "The combination of our companies gives further depth in mobile expertise to NeoSystems and accelerates Wmode's expansion in enterprise markets." NeoSystems will be led by Wmode's SVP of Enterprise Mobility Solutions, Trevor Nimegeers.

As QHSE and enterprise markets evolve to support mobility solutions, customers' demand for on-the-go workforce management continues to increase. According to independent analyst firm Verdantix, access through mobile devices has been identified as the number one function through which to increase usage of QHSE software for 2015 (Understanding the EHS Software Market, Verdantix, July 2013). "The market has shown the clear connection between QHSE software and the natural progression of integrated mobile technology," said David Fettig. "I am excited about the next phase of NeoSystems' growth and being able to leverage the Wmode organization to serve many more customers." As one of the most respected thought leaders in the QHSE software market, David will continue to be an integral part of the NeoSystems leadership team.

Here is everything I learned in those three days distilled into three short points.
DevOps is about increasing efficiency, but nothing is more inefficient than building the same application twice. However, this is a routine occurrence with enterprise applications that need both a rich desktop web interface and strong mobile support. Culture is the most important ingredient of DevOps. The challenge for most organizations is defining and communicating a vision of beneficial DevOps culture for their organizations, and then facilitating the changes needed to achieve that. The hard truth is that many IT managers have risen through the ranks based on their technical skills, not their leadership ab...
