Edgewater Networks announced today that TMC has named the EdgeProtect 7300 Series Enterprise Session Border Controller (ESBC) a 2014 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.
The EdgeProtect 7300 resolves key challenges for video faced by enterprises and SMBs including firewall traversal, device interoperability, provisioning of mobile clients, quality of end user experience and security. It is a single appliance that is easily deployed and supports standards-based H.323 and H.460 NAT/firewall traversal with flexible security policy management. Media features include shortest path media routing to minimize the negative effects of jitter, latency and packet loss on video communications as well as media relay when H.460 firewall traversal is required. It offers broad interoperability with leading vendors including Cisco, Lifesize, Polycom, Radvision, Vidyo and more.
“The evolution of traditional network boundaries has made the job of connecting distributed offices, SOHO users, business partners and mobile employees increasingly complex,” said Dave G. Norman, Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Networks, Inc. “EdgeProtect provides secure, reliable connectivity for video communications that enables Enterprise and SMB customers to improve productivity and reduce costs.”
“Congratulations to Edgewater Networks for receiving a 2014 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “The EdgeProtect 7300 Series has demonstrated true innovation and is among the best solutions that facilitate voice, data and video communications brought to market in the past twelve months. I look forward to continued excellence from Edgewater Networks in 2014 and beyond.”

What are the new priorities for the connected business? First: businesses need to think differently about the types of connections they will need to make – these span well beyond the traditional app to app into more modern forms of integration including SaaS integrations, mobile integrations, APIs, device integration and Big Data integration. It’s important these are unified together vs. doing them all piecemeal. Second, these types of connections need to be simple to design, adapt and configure...

Creating replica copies to tolerate a certain number of failures is easy, but very expensive at cloud-scale. Conventional RAID has lower overhead, but it is limited in the number of failures it can tolerate. And the management is like herding cats (overseeing capacity, rebuilds, migrations, and degraded performance). Download Slide Deck: ▸ Here In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Scott Cleland, Senior Director of Product Marketing for the HGST Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit, discusse...

Is your aging software platform suffering from technical debt while the market changes and demands new solutions at a faster clip? It’s a bold move, but you might consider walking away from your core platform and starting fresh. ReadyTalk did exactly that. In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, discussed cloud as a ‘better data center’ and how it adds new capacity (faster) and improves application availability (redundancy). The cloud is a ‘Dynamic Tool for Dynamic Apps’ and resource allocation is an integral part of your application architecture, so use only the resources you need and allocate /de-allocate resources on the fly.
