A report from PwC, “Asset Management 2020: A Brave New World,” noted that institutional assets under management almost doubled between 2004 and 2012, and may double again by 2020. As managers compete for increasing allocations, eVestment introduces three new proprietary capabilities providing more insight to drive successful competitive positioning with institutional investors. These features will all be available July 1:
- A key step in winning new mandates is visibility in searches conducted through the eVestment database. eVestment’s new Search Analysis shows an asset manager the specific search terms investors and consultants are using and the number of searches that a particular manager was excluded from and why. Search Analysis also tracks when consultants and investors typically conduct searches so managers can ensure they are providing updated data at the right time for inclusion.
- eVestment’s new Peer Share is similar to the popular industry measure Active Share. Instead of comparing an asset manager to a standard benchmark or passive index, it compares the manager to a universe of peers in the eVestment database and highlights the extent to which they are uniquely driving returns from holdings different from their peers. Peer Share is also useful for investors and investment consultants as it allows them to compare managers and products against more specific peer groups as they work to narrow the list of potential managers to match client-specific criteria.
- eVestment’s new Predictive Peer Rank provides managers a lens into the future, showing a six-month prediction of their products’ rankings against peers as data from previous quarters rolls off. eVestment’s existing Peer Rank capability is already among the most popular features on the eVestment Analytics platform and is used by clients to show peer relative performance. The new Predictive Peer Rank feature gives managers a look into their future quartile rank so they can be better prepared to discuss shifting perceptions of their strategies and results with investor and consultant clients.
“The institutional investor world is getting bigger, more global and more complex every day,” said eVestment Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder Matt Crisp. “With larger pools of assets seeking the right place to be invested and more managers competing for those mandates, better data and, in turn, a clear marketing message, can make the difference. These new features allow us to expose actionable information to our manager clients that is just not available anywhere else in the market.”
eVestment provides a flexible suite of easy-to-use, cloud-based solutions to help the institutional investing community identify and capitalize on global investment trends, better select and monitor investment managers and more successfully enable asset managers to market their funds worldwide. With the largest, most comprehensive global database of traditional and alternative strategies, delivered through leading-edge technology and backed by fantastic client service, eVestment helps its clients be more strategic, efficient and informed.

Cloud based infrastructure deployment is becoming more and more appealing to customers, from Fortune 500 companies to SMEs due to its pay-as-you-go model. Enterprise storage vendors are able to reach out to these customers by integrating in cloud based deployments; this needs adaptability and interoperability of the products confirming to cloud standards such as OpenStack, CloudStack, or Azure. As compared to off the shelf commodity storage, enterprise storages by its reliability, high-availabil...
