CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/27/14 -- Jellyvision is psyched to announce that its fearless leader, Amanda Lannert, won the prestigious CEO of the Year award at Built In Chicago's 2014 Moxie Awards. Built In Chicago, a digital tech community, holds the Moxie Awards to recognize Chicago's most innovative digital companies across 16 categories, and Lannert was awarded for helping drive the explosive growth of Jellyvision -- and Chicago's tech scene as a whole -- through business innovation, digital know-how and recruiting the best darned talent the industry has to offer.
Since joining Jellyvision in 2000, Amanda has steered the company toward off-the-charts growth in both employee ranks and the expansion of its Fortune 1000 client portfolio. In 2009, she oversaw the launch of ALEX®, the virtual benefits counselor, which uses humor and a jargon-free experience to engage employees and help them choose their best-fit benefits. Through it all, Amanda has built a company culture emphasizing innovation, camaraderie, tenacity, humor and honesty, traits that led Crain's Chicago Business to name Jellyvision one of Chicago's Best Places to Work, and the #1 place to work for Millennials.
"Moxie is a funny word, and I'm honored that Built In Chicago and the people who voted for this award think I've got it," said Amanda. "But truthfully, a CEO is only as good as the people who work for her, and I'm grateful to lead the coolest, funniest, nicest, and -- let's face it -- smartest team a gal could ask for, a team that's growing like crazy. The fact that these awards now exist is a testament to the talent and innovation in Chicago's burgeoning tech scene, and I hope more of these talented and innovative folks give Jellyvision a look."
The Built in Chicago Moxie Awards were voted on by a panel of judges and the general public, with voting weight split evenly between the two groups. More than 360,000 votes were cast and more than 80,000 individual nominations were submitted.
