TACOMA, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/27/14 -- IID, securing the Internet with shared cyber intelligence, today announced that ActiveTrust has won the Government Technology Research Alliance (GTRA) 2014 GOVTek Executive Government Technology Award as the "best data sharing/collaboration solution." GTRA's GOVTek Executive Government Technology Awards recognize government agencies and IT solution providers whose vision, innovation and accomplishments have improved efficiency, the delivery of government services, citizen engagement, information sharing and national security. The GTRA, a non-profit comprised of businesses and government agencies dedicated to the development and success of the government IT community, recognized IID as the award winner during a June 22 ceremony in Leesburg, Virginia.
"At IID, collaboration isn't just a mindset, it's ingrained in everything we do," said IID Director of Federal Programs Bill McInnis, who accepted the award on behalf of the company. "This selection is an honor because it provides validation from a respected public-private alliance that our approach to securing the Internet through collaboration is imperative."
Businesses and government agencies leverage ActiveTrust to confidently exchange cyber threat intelligence, mitigate threats and coordinate responses between organizations -- helping them stay ahead of and take action against the latest cyber threats. ActiveTrust consists of three elements: a controlled intelligence exchange so participants can confidently share the latest threat information, anonymously if desired; a robust data layer for fast integration of feeds, apps, analytics and services; and a broad-based social collaboration network for coordination and insight between organizations. When launched this February, IID announced dozens of Fortune 500 companies and U.S. government agencies were benefitting from ActiveTrust's hundreds of contributing sources to power their existing security infrastructure.
Award winners were voted on by GTRA Council Members and the GTRA community. Details about the GOVTek Awards and the list of winners in all categories are available at june2014.gtra.org/awards/.
