Radisys and Mavenir Win Award Recognizing Voice over LTE Leadership and Innovation

Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ:RSYS), a market leader enabling wireless infrastructure solutions, and solution partner Mavenir Systems today announced that they have been honored with the Best Voice over LTE (VoLTE) Innovation award. The award was presented by Telecoms.com at the 2014 LTE World Summit held June 24 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The award recognizes the innovation and commercial success of two market-leading VoLTE portfolios and showcases the power and flexibility which can be achieved when operators combine best-in-class IMS/VoLTE network elements from multiple companies. The solution marries Radisys’ Media Resource Function (MRF), a family of powerful IP media processing platforms for VoLTE, VoIP and enhanced video services, with the Mavenir mOne® Convergence Platform. The joint solution is deployed today in trial and commercial VoLTE services with over 20 service providers worldwide. Tier-one operators currently leveraging the combined Radisys/Mavenir solution include Vodafone, Tele2 and Deutsche Telekom. Mavenir and Radisys also worked together to enable the world’s first commercial deployment of VoLTE with U.S. operator MetroPCS (now T-Mobile).

Radisys and Mavenir have been working together since 2011 to ensure that mobile operators are able to deliver the most compelling, cost effective and feature rich LTE-based voice and video services to their subscribers. For mobile operators, the integration of Radisys’ MRF with Mavenir’s mOne® Convergence Platform provides the ability to deliver next-generation communications services, with improved economics, better scalability and increased flexibility. The combined platform, which fully embraces the principles of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), can also be deployed as a fully virtualized solution, bringing additional cost savings and flexible new business models to operators.
